FAQ: your questions about Shwett
Deployment, how it works, data security, licensing: find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Shwett 3D monitoring.
Who is the Shwett 3D monitoring solution for?
It is designed for IT professionals – system and network administrators, infrastructure managers, CIOs… – who want to escape the deployment and management complexity of traditional monitoring tools. Shwett helps them anticipate incidents, drastically reduce downtime and improve the experience of information system users.
Why monitor my IT infrastructure?
When an information system goes down, all or some of your users can no longer work, leading to financial loss. With a monitoring tool, you are alerted in real time and can identify the source of the failure within minutes.
How does Shwett differ from open-source tools such as Nagios, Cacti or Grafana?
Open-source solutions are powerful but require a very large time investment: configuration and analysis take you away from keeping your IT system up and running. With Shwett, no configuration is needed: deploy the probe and access your infrastructure and alerts in a few clicks. The 3D view gives a global picture focused on alerts and critical points.
How do I set up Shwett?
Getting started takes 5 steps:
- Download and install the monitoring probe
- Enter the SNMP communities of your switches and routers in the extranet
- Configure your VMware and Nutanix APIs to display your virtualized elements in 3D
- Create your sites and rooms in the extranet
- Open your 3D universe to view your information system and its alerts
What resources are needed to deploy Shwett?
None. Shwett is 100% agentless: it requires no additional hardware and no new infrastructure.
Where is the collected data stored?
Your data is stored and processed entirely in France, in our secure datacenters. Only we have access to it, and we use it solely to run and improve Shwett.
What failures can Shwett detect?
Shwett alerts you to common faults and failures: internet link outages, low disk space, bandwidth saturation, high CPU or RAM usage, ports down, error packets…
How do I choose my license?
There is a single license model giving access to all monitoring and alerting features. Pricing depends on the number of elements in your infrastructure. See our pricing or contact us for a quote.
